Where better to spend World Ocean Day (8th June) than on the smallest island nation in the world. You’re certainly overwhelmed by how much of the sea there is compared to land here! No sooner had we landed did I head straight for the highest point to take a look around.
Standing from the old World War Two Japanese lookout I could see the whole island. There were some pristine, rocky beaches wrapped around the island but as I gazed inland I could see the jagged landscape of the old phosphate mines. Now closed down the mines have created hundreds of pinnacles of rock which are strangely beautiful in their own right. Quite the juxtaposition in Nauru.
Join me as we'll discover and learn about the world and every country it has to offer. I'll delve into my favourite experience, sight or people that I visit and meet along the way and give you some fun facts. I'll also be taking a snap as I travel so take a peel below to see where I've been so far.
